About Us

Missouri Sports Medicine is part of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the University of Missouri-Columbia. Our physicians work with other community physicians as part of the team that provides care for athletes in the University of Missouri Department of Athletics. All of our physicians have completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine.

As members of an academic department, we are also teachers and researchers. We provide training to resident physicians and instruct medical students. We devote considerable time to researching advances in care and publishing those results in professional, peer-reviewed journals.

Our surgeons are members of the University Physicians group. We offer all the resources of a full-service Sports Medicine department, including a Certified Athletic Trainer, and services in areas such as radiology, casting, pharmacy, and many others. We are a part of University of Missouri Health Care and offer our patients access to all its facilities and specialties as may be needed for their care.
